3) Competition is good.
4) Find a way!
- Respect is earned! ~ Many people say that they deserve respect. However, we believe that you must earn respect. If you are a negative friend, get in trouble in the hallway, fail to finish your homework, and disrupt the classroom, should you get the same respect as someone who is a good friend, follows the rules, completes the homework, and focuses in class?
- Life isn't fair. ~ There are many times in life when things will not turn out as you planned. You might be disappointed or sad, but don't let the problem ruin your spirit. Realize that there will be challenges in life. Don't fall in the the "excuse cloud". Once you get caught in this cloud, you want to blame all of your problems on someone else. The bottom line is that you need to take full responsibility for your work, behavior, and actions.
- Competition is good. ~ There are times to have fun and not worry about who wins. However, competition makes you stronger. If you are participating in a game, you want to be better than your opponent, right? Well, try to be the best student in the class! There are many ways that you could do this. You could set a goal of completing 100% of your homework assignments, earn at least a 90% on every assessment, come to class prepared everyday. All of these goals are achievable. Try to be the best, it will give you an edge in life!
- Find a way! ~ There will come a time when something happens that makes it difficult for you to complete an assignment, read for 20 minutes, or study for a test. We are asking you to FIND A WAY to get the job done. When you get a job, the Boss will tell you to do a job. When he/she comes back, they will expect the job to be completed. They won't care why the job isn't finished, they want it done! So, if you forgot your SSR book, read another book, magazine, or newspaper. If you didn't take home your assignment sheet for the poetry project, look up the information on the website or call a friend.
